Nelson Thomas were engaged to create a strong sense of arrival and seamlessly integrate the newly constructed Tennis Pavilion into the surrounding landscape design. Set on a generous double block, the home is positioned at the lower end of the property, with a long, sloping driveway guiding visitors down through the site.
Challenging site conditions, including extensive existing bedrock and limited soil depth, required a highly considered landscape architecture approach. Garden beds were strategically increased and engineered to allow for the introduction of advanced trees, establishing immediate maturity within the gardens.
The elevated Tennis Pavilion was carefully woven into the landscape through layered, lush planting and structured landscaping that visually connects back to the driveway. Advanced palms framed the approach and bordering dense, tropical style plantings softened built elements and enhanced the sense of arrival.
